In her late twenties, Carrie took a leap of faith to start her own business. It failed, leaving her buried in debt, completely overwhelmed, and out of options.
Desperate and isolated, she stumbled into a church one Sunday afternoon — knowing absolutely nothing about the faith, not knowing a single prayer or the Rosary, and even assuming it was a Protestant church.
The Mass had already ended, and the building was entirely empty. She sat alone in the quiet nave for half the afternoon, doing nothing at all. Her life outside was a terrifying storm of financial ruin, yet inside those walls, she was washed over by an inexplicable, overwhelming peace. She had no formal theology; she just felt deeply, profoundly calm.
The very next day, she landed a well-paying job.
Grateful and curious, Carrie kept returning to that quiet sanctuary, gradually learning about the Catholic faith. As months turned into years—even through the height of COVID-19 and multiple unexpected job losses—a clear pattern of divine grace emerged:
* Precision Timing: Assistance rarely arrived days early, but it was never a minute late. Bills were often cleared right on the day of the deadline.
* Exact Provision: The help that came through was almost always the exact amount required to cover her obligations for that month—nothing more, nothing less.
* Sustained Faith: Even when human math said she should have defaulted, she never missed a single payment.
It became clear that God’s providence operates on a completely different framework than business forecasting.
Seeing this monthly miracle unfold, Carrie entered the Church and was baptized.
For fellow entrepreneurs and professionals navigating uncertainty, structural failure, or financial stress: do not underestimate the power of surrender. God doesn’t always give us a five-year plan, but He guarantees daily bread if we have the courage to ask.
